St James Church of England Primary School is a welcoming, inclusive and diverse school on the edge of Northampton, close to Northampton Saints Rugby ground.

We are a Church of England school within the Peterborough Diocese Academy Trust (PDET). Together, we ensure that Christian ethos is at the heart of everything we do and that children across the Trust and within St James, flourish.

We welcome families from a wide variety of backgrounds which gives us an exciting multicultural mix of language and religion. 

Inclusion is an important part of our offer and we are very proud of our local authority funded specialist provision for children who display social and emotional challenges and have therefore struggled to thrive successfully within a previous mainstream setting. We aim to successfully re-integrate children back into their home school or support a move to a more specialised provision. In addition, we have a dedicated provision, called 'The Ark',  for our youngest children who need extra support to meet their needs.

We have a large Child and Family Support team that provides support to children and families across a wide range of wellbeing and safeguarding issues.

As well as our 14 classrooms, studio, hall, purpose built Nursery and library, we have fantastic facilities to promote outdoor learning and sport. We have a new outdoor learning space for our Reception children and many areas around school to reflect and explore nature and the environment. In addition, we have a large playing field, sports pitches on hard surfaces, trim trial and all weather Multi Use Games Area (astroturf) which is in use before and after school as well as during the school day.
